In Xingu, in the Kamaiurá village, the Quarup, a great festival in which men steal divine fire to bring it to earth, is celebrated every year. Nine tribes participate in the ritual, which takes place to the sound of Uruá flutes, with the presence of the pajés (shamans) Tacuma, Sapaim, Prepori and others. Paula Gaitán's Uaká is a film that immerses the viewer in the cultural and spiritual universe of this people native to the Amazon. Through poetic and evocative images, Gaitán recounts a journey of discovery in which myth, reality and the desire for deep connection with nature are intertwined. The film, which lacks a traditional narrative, explores the symbolism and traditions of the Uaká people, highlighting the sacred and unbreakable relationship between human beings and their environment.
