Tra gli spazi

Corrado Levi
January 24 – March 15 2020
Triennale Milano presents Tra gli spazi (Among Spaces), an exhibition on show throughout the spaces of the Palazzo dell’Arte, dedicated to the eclectic character of Corrado Levi, the architect, artist, intellectual, cultural agitator, lecturer, critic, curator and collector. Levi's research is retraced through a selection of his most representative works – site-specific installations, environmental installations, sculptures, design objects, paintings and architectural projects – created between 1982 and 2019 and brought into dialogue with the architecture of the Triennale. The choice of displaying the works, which almost perfectly blend in with pre-existing ones or stand out unexpectedly as a result of surprising contrasts with the architecture, in the various communal areas and spaces, reflects Levi's practical and poetic nature. The artist always works in an interstitial dimension, moving and gliding between disciplines and techniques. Driven by the desire to develop art also through contaminations and to embrace non-artistic experiences, Levi chooses and re-elaborates every-day and commonplace objects, to which he adds small gestures, giving them new significance, without forgoing lightness and irony and always with a strong reference to the personal sphere and his own experience.
