Inspirations and Generations

Linus and Francesco Vezzoli
July 1 2025, 6.30pm
Free admission upon registration
We present Inspirations and Generations, a series of five meetings in which Michele Masneri moderates a series of dialogues between protagonists from the cultural, business and social worlds to reflect on how passion, talent and a sense of duty are transmitted between generations. The fourth event, Milan Calls Italy. The talent of pop between entertainment and art, compares two emblematic figures of contemporary creativity: Linus, the historic voice of Italian radio and artistic director of Radio Deejay, and Francesco Vezzoli, an artist who has been able to transform the language of pop and entertainment into the subject of art and critical reflection. A talk between seemingly distant worlds - that of broadcasting and that of the visual arts - that meet on the common ground of talent, communication and Italian cultural identity, with an eye on Milan as a crossroads of inspiration.
Speakers Linus, radio host Francesco Vezzoli, artist
Moderator Michele Masneri, writer and journalist
Linus Editorial director of GEDI Group's radio hub (Radio Deejay, Radio Capital, Radio m2o) and artistic director of Radio Deejay, Radio Capital and OnePodcast. A historic voice of Italian radio, he made his debut in 1976 and joined Radio Deejay in 1984. Since 1991 he has hosted Deejay Chiama Italia, the radio station's flagship program. Since 1994 he has led the artistic direction of Radio Deejay, helping to transform it into a reference of pop and music culture in Italy. Author and host of successful television programs, he created the Deejay Ten, the non-competitive race that involves thousands of people every year in several Italian cities, and Party Like a Deejay, a large live event between music and sports. He has published several books and, since 2024, has been the star of Radio Linetti Live in Tour, an autobiographical theatrical show that has sold out all over Italy.
Francesco Vezzoli He is among the most internationally established Italian artists. His research, which combines video, performance, sculpture and embroidery, explores the boundary between pop culture, media, art and historical memory, with a language rich in quotations and symbolic references. He has exhibited at the Venice Biennale, Tate Modern in London, Guggenheim in New York, MOCA in Los Angeles, Musée d'Orsay in Paris, and Fondazione Prada in Milan. Recent projects include: VITA DVLCIS at Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome, Musei delle Lacrime at Museo Correr in Venice, and Francesco Vezzoli presents: Karl Goes to Memphis at Almine Rech Gallery in Munich, a tribute to the talk between Karl Lagerfeld and Ettore Sottsass's Memphis collective.
