Future Islands
July 8 2025, 9.00pm – 11.00pm
People Who Aren't There Anymore represents a triumph for Future Islands, turning pain into hope and capturing for the first time the ecstasy of their legendary live performances. In 44 minutes, the album recounts an emotional saga, with Samuel T. Herring's intense vocals accompanied by Gerrit Welmers' melodies and the rhythms of William Cashion and Michael Lowry. The group, which has always been unique and recognizable, continues to evolve: the joy and pain in Herring's voice reflect an inner change, marking a turning point in their career. After nearly 1,500 concerts that marked audiences and artists, Future Islands discovered new ways of living and creating, letting go of old patterns. This process has resulted in a deeply honest work, the most accomplished in their 17-year career, celebrating their unique journey and intensity.
