January 23 2025, 7.00pm
Free admission upon registration
The third Cinema Night, part of the Public program accompanying the exhibition Il Nostro Tempo. CinéFondationCartier, is a dialogue between Massimo D'Anolfi and Martina Parenti. The directors, together with Daniela Persico, introduce the new screening program: a focus on some of the most significant works by the German filmmaker Werner Herzog, who poetically explores the depths of the four elements water, earth, fire and air. The review aims to restore the aspect of nature that is as fascinating as it is disturbing, connecting to the reflection proposed by Eryk Rocha and Gabriela Carneiro da Cunha in A Queda do Céu, presented in the exhibition: a work that makes an urgent appeal for the preservation of the Amazon rainforest, rethinking and redefining our relationship with nature.
The conversation is followed by the screening of the film Bestiari, Lapidari, Erbari by D'Anolfi and Parenti, a work that further explores the theme of the relationship between man and nature, exploring its symbolic and material dimensions.
