Caring City. Towards a safer city for all

May 23 2024, 6.00pm
Free admission upon registration
The meeting focuses on the topic of the perception of fear in public space, especially by women and girls. In the first part the book Free, not brave. Women and fear in public space by Florencia Andreola and Azzurra Muzzonigro (LetteraVentidue, 2024) will be presented. The text is not only a tool for exploring existing problems, but also a call to action addressed to both the population and city administrations, so that the presence of women in public space increasingly becomes an expression of freedom and not an act of courage. In the second part of the meeting, the projects developed by the students of the Master's workshop in Urban Vision & Architectural Design of Domus Academy with the project leadership of Sex & the City become a starting point for a broader reflection on the role of public space design in addressing the theme of safety and the perception of fear in public space, especially by women and girls.
