Dolce nuovo turismo culturale Verona & Lake Garda
September 20 2022, 6.30pm
From the guidebook Architectural Guide. Verona and Lake Garda, by Sergey Nikitin-Rimsky, published by DOM publishers (2022), the talk offers a new, irreverent look at Verona. Founded more than 2,000 years ago, the fourth most visited city in Italy and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Verona is rich in historic architecture, Gothic and Romanesque buildings and 17th-century neoclassical gems, such as the Palazzo della Gran Guardia. The city's architectural elements and places, from the best known to the most hidden, are the protagonists of the first architectural guide dedicated to Verona, Lake Garda and Valpolicella.
Speakers include author Sergey Nikitin-Rimsky, historian and socio-urbanist; Stefano Aloe, professor of Languages at the University of Verona; Maria Vittoria Capitanucci, architectural historian; Roberto Bianconi, founder of the Cenacolo Veronese cultural association; and Marta Ugolini, councillor for Tourism, Culture, and Relations with UNESCO of the City of Verona.
