When traditions meet synthesizers

Clap! Clap! and Domenico Candellori
October 23 2025, 7.00pm
Free admission upon registration
This series of events, curated by Elasi, brings together musicians who are pillars of folk tradition and leading producers from the Italian and international electronic scene in a dialogue between past and future. Each event, dedicated to an Italian region, intertwines stories, instruments, listening sessions, and live performances to explore how technology transforms and accompanies folk music... and vice versa. It all culminates in a jam session, where roots and experimentation merge into a unique sound experience.
This event explores the musical roots of central-southern Italy and their transformation into contemporary electronic expressions. Percussionist and music therapist Domenico Candellori and producer/performer Cristiano Crisci, aka Clap! Clap!, join forces in the project Torozebu, pushing the boundaries of world music in a captivating dialogue of sound and innovation.
Elasi, singer-songwriter, composer, and dj from Alessandria, blends soundscapes in music featuring stroboscopic matryoshka dolls of styles, metropolises of sparkling synthesizers, and sounds from distant lands.
Clap! Clap! (Cristiano Crisci) is an internationally acclaimed Italian producer and performer. His music blends global influences including African percussion, jazz, footwork, and folk traditions. He collaborated with Paul Simon, and his album Tayi Bebba received critical praise, with the track Viarejo featured in the Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack.
Domenico Candellori is a percussionist and music therapist exploring Afro-Cuban, Middle Eastern, North African, and Italian traditions. He has collaborated with artists such as Eugenio Bennato and Nidi D’Arac, performing at world music festivals in Europe, North Africa, and the USA. He is currently a member of the group TRIAT, combining ethnomusicological research with live performance.
