Preserving Modernism. A conversation with Gayane Umerova, Rem Koolhaas and Jean-Louis Cohen

A conversation between architects Rem Koolhaas and Jean-Louis Cohen and the members of the project Tashkent. Modernism XX/XXI, promoted by ACDF and coordinated by Grace, aimed at documenting, exhibiting and preserving modernist architecture in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. Introducing the research project behind the exhibition presented at Triennale for Milano Design Week, the talk, moderated by Ekaterina Golovatyuk, offers a reflection on the relationship between modernity and heritage conservation, and on the legacy and influences of the modernist movement, elaborating new conceptual and technical tools for its evaluation and preservation.
