Presentation of the book "Intervista con la New Media Art": the experience of the Digicult observatory

The book Intervista con la New Media Art is a tool for navigating and understanding society and contemporary artistic practice, in the relationship with technology and scientific research, starting from the 15 years experience of the Digicult observatory between art, design and digital culture. The volume will be introduced by Marco Mancuso, critic, curator and Artistic Director of Digicult and author of the book, Pier Luigi Sacco, Professor at IULM Milan, and Lorenza Baroncelli, Artistic Director of Triennale Milano, moderated by Bertram Niessen, Scientific Director Che Fare .

Intervista con la New Media Art is based on the experience of the Digicult observatory, one of the most important international platforms of criticism of New Media Art, which over the last 15 years has monitored the development and impact of technologies and science on contemporary art and society. Enriched by a series of essays written by some of its most representative authors, the volume unfolds along a series of 60 interviews, published since 2005 and divided into 10 sections, with some of the most important artists, designers, critics and curators that have marked the history of art and technological culture of the new millennium. Based on a plurality of voices and perspectives, as a completely unique collection of reflections and practices, the book aims to recover the path of the Digicult observatory, certifying its importance in the contexts of international New Media Art and highlighting the uniqueness of its experience of cultural activism.
