Carla Sozzani is one of the figures who have shaped fashion, art and design in recent decades. Director of ‘Elle’ and special issues of ‘Vogue’, she has worked side by side with designers such as Azzedine Alaïa, Romeo Gigli and Paco Rabanne. In 1990, she founded 10 Corso Como, the innovative space combining fashion and art, design and conviviality, and where Carla fully expressed her pioneering vision. Inextricably linked to her sister Franca - for a long time director of ‘Vogue Italia’ - her work has had a decisive impact on the way fashion is made and enjoyed worldwide. This biography of Carla Sozzani, written by Louise Baring and published by L'ippocampo (2024), is littered with rare photographs and quotations and pays tribute to a volcanic and indefatigable woman, who through magazines, exhibitions, collaborations, books and catalogues - right up to the Foundation that bears her name - has always given space to the most sparkling contemporary culture.
Speakers include:
Carla Sozzani; Emanuele Coccia, philosopher and professor, École des hautes études en sciences sociales; Louise Baring, writer; Marco Sammicheli, Director, Museo del Design Italiano (video); Luca Stoppini, Triennale Milano Fashion Department Advisor.
