La Maddalena. Atlas of an occupation
Eterotopia
November 2 2022, 6.30pm
In the volume published by Quodlibet, eight visions in the form of an atlas tell the layering of histories, imagery, and architecture that celebrate the unexpected alliances between the land and its occupants. The Maddalena archipelago is a complex model of interdependence and connection relationships, which, in its uniqueness, is representative of different types of isolated systems on Italian territory. Throughout its history, this island within an island has experienced a continuous flow of occupations and abandonments, from the Napoleonic army to the prolific stay of NATO, from the failed affair of the G8 complex to the seasonal anthropic load of mass tourism.Three years after the territorial research laboratory research laboratory in La Maddalena, which involved some protagonists of the international architecture scene and leading figures in the fields of of art, photography, sociology, archaeology and biology, Eterotopia dives into the depths of these landlocked seas resurface with a unified vision, at the basis of a design practice on a territorial scale.
Speakers: Eterotopia with False Mirror Office, Openfabric, Parasite 2.0.
