To celebrate their 90th anniversary, Franco and Adele Cologni, distinguished Milanese figures passionately dedicated to the preservation of Italian high craftsmanship, offer the city of Milan a precious gem of art and craftsmanship. For this special occasion, the Compagnia Marionettistica Carlo Colla & Figli, an excellence in the art of puppetry, has created and produced a new show. Through the precious microcosm of its puppets, painted scenes and stage objects, The Show of Beauty tells the story of an unparalleled master of art, Benvenuto Cellini, and his famous Salt Cellar.
Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte is a private nonprofit institution established in Milan in 1995 by Franco Cologni. With the publishing series “Mestieri d'Arte” and “Ricerche” (Marsilio Editori), and with the magazine Mestieri d’Arte & Design. Crafts Culture, it aims to tell the reality of Italian high craftsmanship. With the project "Una Scuola, un Lavoro. Percorsi di Eccellenza" it actively supports the training of young people in the sector. With the MAM-Maestro d'Arte e Mestiere recognition, it rewards the great creators of savoir-faire. It collaborates with important institutions in Italy and abroad, in particular with Michelangelo Foundation, of which it is a partner for Homo Faber Event. It organizes exhibitions on crafts, applied arts and design in prestigious venues.
The Carlo Colla & Figli Marionette Company boasts nearly three hundred years of activity. Its repertoire is extremely rich: nearly 400 performances, from opera to ballet, from historical and popular novels to fairy tales. A real treasure is the Colla's “theatrical building,” that is, the precious trove of puppets, costumes, sets, scripts and props. The Company has become world famous and recognized for the richness of its productions, the refinement of its texts, the elegance and preciousness of its characters and stagings, the wisdom of its stage plays, and the virtuosity of its acting and handling technique. The show is suitable for kids from 8 years
Due to ongoing works in Triennale, the theater is not accessible by lift. To avoid the stairs, enter through the gate in the park, in Viale Alemagna. The entrance is also accessible to people with disabilities.
