La Gae The Life and Times of Gae Aulenti

A conversation about La Gae, the volume edited by Giovanni Agosti and created in collaboration with the Archivio Gae Aulenti, which grew out of the major retrospective dedicated to the architect Gae Aulenti (1927–2012). A "sesquipedalian and unrepeatable" book that reflects the complexity and strength of one of the most significant figures in twentieth-century Italy. A human and professional story that conveys her curious and multifaceted nature, able to bring together the many worlds of architecture and often go beyond its boundaries. At its heart is a chronology which, year by year from 1927 to 2012, intertwines private life and public activity, documents and voices, in a surprising account that transcends the conventions of biographical narrative.
