KEO
Elena Sgarbossa
November 27 2020, 8.00pm
KEO by Elena Sgarbossa is the name of an artificial satellite which proposes to launch a time capsule carrying messages from the Earth’s inhabitants to a future humanity, 50,000 years from now, when it is expected that the time capsule will re-enter the Earth’s atmosphere. Many people around the world have been invited to contribute their message to the Keo Project, in order to allow those who will come after us to witness our time, to witness this version of us.

Elena Sgarbossa is a young Italian dancer and maker. After training in contemporary dance at Balletto di Roma, she developed her practice through projects supported by the Anticorpi XL network and by OperaEstate Festival/Bassano del Grappa, where she was introduced to the teaching approach Dance Well (a research and movement project for people with Parkinson’s). As a performer, she has collaborated with Marco D’Agostin, Chiara Frigo, Masako Matsushita, Davide Valrosso, Andrea Rampazzo and Pietro Marullo. In 2018 she embarked on a choreographic project with the solo KEO, which won the DNAppunti Coreografici prize. In 2019 she took part in the European project “Empowering Dance” in the context of EU Erasmus+ and created Flying Carpet, with the support of Boarding Pass Plus Dance in collaboration with four other Italian artists.
