Inventory of Life
June 3 – 12, 2022
An exhibition presented by Mathieu Lehanneur, curated by Maria Cristina Didero
Inspired by the worldwide pandemic and also IPCC's report, Mathieu Lehanneur shows Inventory Of Life, a whole of four installations about state of populations and oceans, but also of our consciences.
The worldwide pandemic has reawakened our awareness of the fragility and transience of life. From Europe to Asia, from the Americas to Africa, never has the world reacted with such synchronicity to the possibility of death. At the same time, the latest report by the IPCC confirmed the irremediable consequences of our societies’ choices, particularly with regards to the longevity of our marine ecosystems and rising sea levels. Mathieu Lehanneur shows an inventory of the world : the state of its populations and its oceans, but also of our consciences.
Through the four installations brought together, the creator offers us a mirror of the world as it is, and as we inhabit it, today. Each of them is based on scientific data and statistics provided by the UN, the WHO and from satellite photos generated specifically for the project.
