March 29 2021, 6.30pm
In this public talk, introduced and facilitated by Elena Tettamanti — President of Associazione Amici della Triennale — Italian architect and designer Mario Cucinella will reflect on issues of environmental sustainability in architecture, in a future where global population growth will force us to keep building on a massive scale to meet the demand for new dwellings. But where will we find the resources to do this and the energy to maintain these buildings?

Mario Cucinella will talk about the working method of Mario Cucinella Architects; the school of sustainable design he founded, “SOS - School of Sustainability”; and his latest projects, which represent a philosophy and research. This aims to respond to the challenges of the future by adopting architectural solutions from the past, when buildings made the best use of available resources.
