Il Quadro di Troisi, a project by Eva Geist and Donato Dizzy, comes to our Garden to open the concert program of Triennale Estate. The project stems from the two artists' correspondence about the late actor and director Massimo Troisi. This exchange becomes a source of identification that is intertwined with the project, whose lyrics fit the musical phrases and flow like a film monologue from Troisi's own work. Their self-titled, debut LP is an ode to a fragrant Italian vision, brimming with detail and deep intensity. Entire decades of national music history are understood and transformed in the present as the pair draws inspiration from their classic Italo-disco and synth pop heritage. In 2023 the duo officially became a trio with the addition of Pietro Micioni, and in the same year they released an eclectic collection of reinterpretations of 8 tracks from their debut album. The last album, La Commedia, is from 2024.
