Fuga BWV 565

A performance based on running, which becomes a metaphor for a paradoxical existential condition: that of those who move while remaining stationary, fleeing from themselves and their contingencies, in search of an ever elusive wellbeing. A training session on a treadmill is an opportunity to let the imagination go, on the notes of sounds derived from baroque music and the world of entertainment: a liberating escape, capable of rewriting the very meaning of playing sports. With this work, the Palermo/Petrosino artistic duo continue their research on the nature of the performative act starting from the everyday, creating a minimal choreography of the tangible gesture, poised between reality and fiction.
