Dollar Street
March 15 – 17, 2019
Dollar Street is the world's first project of photographic representation of data storytelling: photographs become data, tools to understand the reality behind numbers, beyond stereotypes. The costantly evolving database counts more than 30.000 photographs and 10.000 videos, collected in 260 houses in 50 different countries, making reality understandable. For the first time Dollar Street become a home, an immersive experience in the everyday life of people which live around the planet. Imagine the world as a street. All houses are lined up by income, the poor living to the left and the rich to the right. Everybody else somewhere in between. People geographically very far, with comparable incomes, are neighbors on Dollar Street and live a surprisingly similar everyday life.
