Traslochi Emotivi – Giulia Currà
March 11 2023, 4.00pm – 7.30pm
PREMIERE
Running time 30'
In a memory room, where lost and found memories are stored, piles of books mix with biscuit boxes and light bulbs, while kitchen units are covered in torn love letters. Lived stories intersect with tales yet to be written. In this piece by the company Traslochi Emotivi, founded by interdisciplinary artist Giulia Currà – whose work blends visual art, publishing, performance and installation –, the event of moving homes is explored in its significance as a process in which opposites coexist and surprising connections can emerge. The extreme precarity of the objects reflects the fragility of the human soul when exposed to change. The work stages a ritual passage which guides the audience through a journey of self-discovery.
Giulia Currà (1988) is the founder of Traslochi Emotivi, a nomadic and fragmented company founded in 2010 that mixes different artistic disciplines, including publishing, performance and installation. Creating actions and visions related to the concept of threshold, the company's works reflect on the theme of moving as concrete evidence of dismantling stories and thoughts. Always holding fast to the concept of art and creation as a mixture of multiple inputs and disciplines, Giulia Currà inaugurated, in 2012, Casa Cicca Museum, a project that saw his private home transformed into a public showcase, open to the public and especially to artists and creatives who could leave their works as a trace of their passage.
