A three-hour talk with composer and researcher Curtis Roads and visual artist Brian O'Reilly on experimenting between sound and image. Roads will preview a new granulation plugin, developed from the experience of EmissionControl2 and designed for ease of use, control via MIDI, and new creative possibilities. O'Reilly will delve into his visual music practice and real-time strategies for audiovisual performance. An opportunity to explore, in a direct and immersive way, the ever-evolving landscape of sound design and digital expression. The workshop takes place in Voce Triennale, our new space dedicated to music and sound.
Composer and theorist, Curtis Roads pioneered computer-based granular synthesis. His works sculpt sound at the microscale, shaping intricate, evolving sonic forms.
Visual artist and composer, Brian O’Reilly creates audiovisual environments blending electronic sound, real-time imagery, and improvisation.
