Athena Le presenze femminili delle Biennali/Triennali di Monza/Milano. 1923–1940
January 17 2024, 6.30pm
Between 1923 and 1940, at first biennially and then triennially, a series of exhibitions are held at the Villa Reale of Monza and the Milan Triennale: those exhibitions already contained the idea of what Design would become in the postwar period. The purpose of the volume is to guide the reader through the halls of the exhibitions dwelling on the female presences who, as artisans, painters, sculptors, and architects offered their contributions, giving account at the same time of a world of schools, private institutions, and companies that in various capacities engaged throughout the country to enhance women's knowledge, often led by visionary women themselves.
