Armando Amoretti fotografo Barricate a Parma 1922–2022

The book focuses on the 24 photographs taken by the young Amoretti during August 1922 when the Arditi del Popolo led by Guido Picelli repelled the advance of Italo Balbo's black shirts. The event ranks among the symbolic episodes of Italian antifascism also thanks to the photographic contribution that restores its historical significance. The curators, in the two essays accompanying the images, reread the Parma episode by placing it within a broader iconographic history, juxtaposing it with contemporary research.
