From Archive to Living Art Continuum

Quayola × Gebrüder Thonet Vienna
April 20 – 26, 2026

On the occasion of the Milan Design Week, we present Continuum by Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, a cultural project that activates the brand’s historical archive as a tool for research and design. The reinterpretation of the brand’s historic pieces intertwines with a hybrid artistic production developed in dialogue with the international artist Quayola, who explores the founding codes of GTV’s identity between the analog and the digital. Born from an early act of technological innovation, the company’s production places artisanal mastery at its core and has become part of the cultural heritage of living. In Continuum, the archive becomes living material: human and technical gestures renew its meaning, while history is reactivated through the language of contemporary art. Quayola’s work Transient-Impermanent Paintings takes shape as a generative audiovisual environment in which sound and image enter into dialogue between past and present.
