SONDA Micol Assaël: Your Hidden Sound

As part of Equinozio and SONDA—Voce Triennale's new format for artistic and sound experiments in the form of installations—we welcome Micol Assaël, one of the most original voices in the international art scene, with her work Your Hidden Sound (2004). The sound installation is based on recordings of a bird that took refuge in the artist’s studio. In the empty space, only the flapping of wings and the artist’s footsteps resonate as she unsuccessfully attempts to catch it. A situation of suspension thus unfolds, evoking the unsettling atmosphere of a psychological thriller and stirring mixed feelings in the audience, who, as often in Assaël’s works, are empathetically involved.
