Industria Indipendente Extreme Romance (lato A)
March 22 2026, 6.00pm
Free admission upon registration
At Voce, our space dedicated to sound and music, Industria Indipendente and Silvia Calderoni perform as part of Equinozio. They present Extreme Romance (Side A), a performative work conceived by Industria Indipendente and executed through the use of analog and electronic instruments, intertwining original sonorities and archival materials while unfolding as a score of texts and sounds. The performance forms a journey through sonic and vocal writing, where the body allows itself to be traversed by rhythm and sound vibrations.
Industria Indipendente is a collective working across performative and visual arts, founded in 2005 by Erika Z. Galli and Martina Ruggeri. Their research is rooted in language—an expanded form of writing that inscribes itself onto bodies, environments and surfaces. Whatever the scale or dimension they choose to activate, their works consistently question and reflect on themes such as the unproductive nature of time, the creation of alternative worlds in which new communities and alliances can emerge, and the continuous redefinition of individual and collective identities. In its various configurations, Industria Indipendente has presented work in numerous venues including La Biennale di Venezia, Romaeuropa Festival, Triennale Milano, Théâtre Paris-Villette, Fondazione Merz, Santarcangelo Festival, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Istituto Svizzero, Short Theatre, MACRO – Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome, and Piccolo Teatro di Milano. In 2024 they created the exhibition Blue Blue Blue Limbo for Almanac gallery in Turin—conceived as a gym for feeling through which they investigate body and language.
Silvia Calderoni is an actress and performer. She trained artistically with the company Teatro della Valdoca, appearing in several of its productions, and since 2006 has been an active member of the company Motus. She received the Ubu Prize in 2009 as Best Actress Under 30 and the IX Virginia Reiter Prize as Best Italian Actress Under 35 in 2015. In film and television she has worked with directors including Davide Manuli, Jonathan Nossiter, Matteo Rovere, Andrea De Sica, Gus Van Sant and Rä Di Martino, taking part in international films, series and projects. In 2022 she created the installation Pick Pocket Paradise for the exhibition Espressioni con frazioni at Castello di Rivoli – Museum of Contemporary Art (Turin), in collaboration with Ilenia Caleo. They were associate artists of the Italian Pavilion at the 2023 Architecture Biennale. In 2023 their performance The present is not enough premiered in Hamburg, followed in 2025 by temporale (a lesbian tragedy). Since 2025 they have been associate artists at BASE Milano.
