Germany Nomadic Cosmologies and Fugitive Power - Red Forest Radiograms

July 15 – December 11 2022
Many different matters stand at the core of this work, such as the consequences of capitalism on the environment, economic crisis and the most recent war circumstances. The relationship between military strategy, dominant culture, market-driven colonialism, extractivism, and industrial production is a ubiquitous aspect of the ongoing climate catastrophe. This is profoundly marked by the economic and political matters surrounding the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Among the sonic and experiential conversations that constitute the project, climatic struggles, environmental justice and transformative future are combined to warn about the total war against life and to call for pluralistic ways of being in and with the world. Nine radiograms are presented inside the pavilion. Visitors can wander through this seemingly unstable landscape while being exposed to a waterfall of sounds. The work invites engagement with the socioecological dimension of energy and people’s resistance against epistemic injustice: the reduction of all forms of life to simple parts of a complex whole, rather than many forms of life that need space to flourish on their own terms.
