A Journey Into Biodiversity Eight Forays on Planet Earth

May 13 – November 9 2025
A journey into biodiversity through eight cities—broadly defined as organized communities that coexist and shape their world. On the third planet of the solar system, there are cities of octopuses, beavers, mushrooms, and humans. Each city offers a sensory immersion, conveying a key concept of biodiversity.
The exhibition is not merely a container; it is an integral part of the scientific narrative. Each station is constructed from organic materials that will be returned to the cycle of nature: algae, mushrooms, terracotta, cochineal-based bioplastics, and recycled wood. Additionally, there are sentinels that actively collect scientific data from the field. To heal the divisions between humanity and between humanity and the planet, we must realign ourselves and learn to use the word “we” not just to refer to our own group, but to the entire human species and the biodiversity of which it is a part. We are all interconnected within a single net.

Earthphonia live
Max Casacci and Telmo Pievani
Performed at some of Italy's most important scientific, cultural, and environmental festivals—as well as opening for Paul Kalkbrenner and Kraftwerk—the live set by Turin-based musician and producer Max Casacci is a unique sound experience. Earthphonia celebrates the sounds of nature and its ecosystems, transforming them into music, rhythm, melodies, and orchestration without the use of musical instruments: from the depths of the oceans to the crater of an erupting volcano, passing through forests, rivers, beehives, birds, and mountains. Amidst the secret sounds of forest roots, choirs of fish and rocks playing in harmony, you are immersed so deeply that you find yourself dancing – for real – with bees and wolves. The words of evolutionary philosopher Telmo Pievani will be woven into the sounds of Earthphonia.
