Among the protagonists of Triennale's 2022 theater season, Daria Deflorian and Antonio Tagliarini—also associate artists of Triennale Milano Teatro—present their latest book (titled Tre film. Cinque drammaturgie dedicate al cinema) on the occasion of the show Sovrimpressioni. Published by Luca Sossella Editore, the volume collects five theatrical texts inspired by the shows the artistic duo has dedicated to some exceptional figures of the cinematic imagination: the young aspiring actress of Io la conoscevo bene (by Antonio Pietrangeli); the two old dancers —Giulietta Masina and Marcello Mastroianni —protagonists of Ginger and Fred (by Federico Fellini); the shocking figure of Giuliana—played by Monica Vitti —in the masterpiece Red Desert (by Michelangelo Antonioni).
Daria Deflorian and Antonio Tagliarini are authors, directors and performers. Since 2008 they have been creating projects, performances and site-specific interventions, redesigning the essence of being performers on stage, always poised between personal memory and collective imagination, between autobiography and dream. The first work born from this collaboration is Rewind, a tribute to Pina Bausch's Café Müller. Between 2010 and 2011 they worked on the project Reality, from which came the installation/performance czeczy/things (2011) and the show Reality (2012), for which Deflorian won the Ubu Award for Best Actress. While Ce ne andiamo per non darvi altre preoccupazioni (2013) won the Ubu Award for best new Italian play, as well as the Canadian Critics' Award for best foreign play. The pair has created two site-specific works, Il posto (2014) and Quando non so sapere cosa fare cosa faccio (2015). In 2017 Deflorian and Tagliarini began working on the Antonioni/Deserto Rosso project. In 2020 they will debut their theatrical adaptation of the text Who Killed My Father, by Edouard Louis.
