After the investigation into the relationship between man and nature – a central theme in the reinterpretation of Lord Byron's Manfred – the madalena reversa, an eclectic artistic project founded by Maria Alterno and Richard Pareschi, return to the stage of our theater to reflect on the relationship between the human and the invisible. To do so, they present the 1891 tragedy by Oscar Wilde Salomè, in a rewriting for body, light, and sound. Drawn from the biblical figure of Herodias' daughter, Wilde's work has an orgiastic and hypnotic musicality that inspires the representation of Madalena Reversa: a musical dramaturgy that generates a sense of intangible threat, an ambiguous stasis that leads to violent tension, an echo and mirror of the extreme nihilism that inhabits our present.
madalena reversa is an artistic project created in 2016 by Maria Alterno and Richard Pareschi, which mixes performing and visual arts. Their projects aim at creating – through a calculated combination of lights, sounds and design – atmospheres capable of arousing strong emotions in the audience. Their creations are located in an opaque zone between theater and visual arts, between performance and installation, where the only unavoidable element is dramaturgy. Some projects have been presented in festivals and venues such as: Triennale Milano Teatro, Venice Biennale, Santarcangelo Festival, Festival delle Colline Torinesi, Grrranit – Scène nationale Belfort, Short Theatre, City of 100 Stairs Festival, Kilowatt Festival.
