La Nature by Armenian director Artavazd Peleshyan—commissioned by Fondation Cartier and the ZKM Filminstitut in Karlsruhe in 2005—is a visually powerful work that explores the relationship between humans and nature. With his unique style of dynamic editing and dialogue-free narration, Peleshyan captures the primal power of natural elements and the often conflicting interactions between humans and the environment. A visual ode to the beauty and brutality of nature, the film invites the viewer to reflect on the dynamics that bind humanity to the earth, offering an intense and meditative cinematic experience. For two decades, Fondation Cartier has chosen to celebrate the filmmaker's work through its exhibitions and collection, such as La Nature (2020), the first exhibition dedicated to Peleshyan in France.
