Bolivian singer and performer Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti and jazz drummer Frank Rosaly released MESTIZX (International Anthem), their debut album, in May 2024. The record combines pre-and post-colonial Latin rhythms with avant-garde jazz, art punk, post-rock, cumbia, and electronics, creating an original and universal sound. A couple in art and life, Ferragutti and Rosaly explore Bolivian, Brazilian, and Puerto Rican roots to reflect on colonialism and identity. Their live music is an energetic experience that mixes improvisation and tribal rhythms. MESTIZX, a non- gendered term for “mixed person,” combines autobiography and musical experimentation, challenging imposed identities.
