April 9 – May 1 2024
ITALIAN PREMIERE
Running time 40’
Graveyards are towns, like all other towns: there is a center and a periphery, rich areas and poor areas, well-known people and lesser-known people. For this year’s FOG festival, the visionary group from Spain El Conde de Torrefiel presents an audio guide through the stories and the characters of the Cimitero Monumentale in Milan. Participants will discover what secrets are hidden in this dormant town, following an eclectic audio track inviting them to explore a set which can be both unsettling and emotional, in which several lives have succeeded one another over the centuries and which could still have something today.
El Conde de Torrefiel is a project born in Barcelona in 2010, founded by Tanya Beyeler and Pablo Gisbert. Since then, they have produced twelve theatrical works and eight site-specific stage productions, in addition to conducting workshops across Europe. Their creations have been presented in theaters and festivals in America, Asia, and especially in Europe, including the Kunstenfestivaldesarts in Brussels, Wiener Festwochen in Vienna, Festival d'Automne in Paris, Festival GREC in Barcelona, FOG Triennale Milano Performing arts festival, Short Theater in Rome, MMCA in Seoul, Museo del Chopo in Mexico City, Festival Transámerique in Montreal, and Festival d'Avignon.
