Workshop on the Reconstruction of Ukraine

The Workshop on the Reconstruction of Ukraine involves representatives from Ukrainian politics, planners, cultural and international institutions and Italian companies that are already working to support the reconstruction theme, all to address the urban-planning and architectural regeneration of the cities and towns, and the cultural heritage, of Ukraine, following the grievous damage done by the war. The goal is to establish – thanks to Italy's architectural know-how, the ability of national institutions to promote collaboration with EU partners, and on the centrality of Triennale Milano and MAXXI in the world of architecture, design and urban planning – a European hub for sustainable and innovative reconstruction, with a focus on social infrastructure such as schools and cultural institutions. Putting itself at the service of Ukraine's rebirth, the workshop involves international experts, comparing the needs of the war-torn country with significant international precedents, such as the post-disaster reconstructions faced in recent years in Italy and around the world.
