To the Moon

Laurie Anderson Hsin-Chien Huang
March 1 – 13, 2022
Italian Premiere
In Laure Anderson’s breath-taking VR installation the viewer experience being shot out from earth, walking on the surface of the moon and being lifted up the side of a lunar mountain and then tossed off. To the Moon is inspired by images and tropes from Greek mythology, literature, science, sci-fi space movies, which, in the hands of this most eclectic avant-garde artist, become raw material for a sensory experience that taps into the viewer’s imagination. Created in a collaboration with Taiwanese artist and filmmaker Hsin-Chien Huang, To the Moon was originally commissioned by the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (Denmark) for their comprehensive 2018 exhibition The Moon: From Inner Worlds to Outer Space.
