The Godfather and The Leopard Autumn of the Patriarchs
October 9 2024, 6.30pm
Free admission upon registration
Antonio Monda, professor at New York University and author of the recent book Incontri ravvicinati (Nave di Teseo, 2024), guides us to the rediscovery of two extraordinary films. Both based on literary works, the films The Godfather (1972) and The Leopard (1963) have gone down in history for unforgettable jokes and sequences: dance scenes, betrayals, falling in love, murders and a relationship with politics characterized by corruption and disillusionment. But before anything else, the two films immortalize two patriarchs in the autumn of their existence in a rapidly changing world.
