My body solo
An intimate and evocative solo, My body solo explores the relational possibilities between individual existence and collective experience. With this work, choreographer and dancer Stefania Tansini – winner of the 2020 DNAppunti coreografici competition – continues to experiment with the body and movement, in search of an authentic form of expression and a profound encounter with the other. The vulnerable side of the individual is exposed with generosity, by accepting one’s own precarity. In a half-black half-golden space, a sound welcomes the spectators on arrival and three lights guide them as they experience the movement, breath and voice of the dancer.
Stefania Tansini graduated from Accademia Paolo Grassi. She has danced for Romeo Castellucci, Cindy Van Acker, Simona Bertozzi, Luca Veggetti, Enzo Cosimi, Ariella Vidach. As a dancer, she collaborates with Motus. Her artistic research focuses on the body and its movement, which are at the centre of her choreographic projects (My body, My space, My body solo, Punti di ristoro, La grazia del terribile, Questione di vita o di morte, Linea umana) and of the performance and visual arts projects she co-creates in collaboration with other artists (Stupid girls, a video installation with Luca del Pia; Dove finisce il volo, a performance with the composer Paolo Aralla e Guido Barbieri; Interno notte, a performance for domestic spaces with Paolo Aralla; Utera, a performance with biodynamic sensors with Secret Theatre Ensamble and Tempo Reale; Due madri, a video project with Luca Del Pia).
