Designed by Jasper Morrison and set in settings inspired by the American wilderness, the exhibit highlights the theme of durability and sustainability in Emeco's chair designs, exploring their adaptability to different contexts and weather conditions. With an 80-year history that began in 1944 with recycled aluminum chairs made for the U.S. Navy, Emeco's principle has always been “start with what's left, turn it into what will last.” That longevity is reflected in the reintroduction of the Navy Lounge, sofas and furniture created for the Navy in the 1940s, now redesigned by Jasper Morrison.
