A special dj set in the Giancarlo De Carlo Garden during aperitif time as a preview of Milano Design Week. Protagonist of this appointment is Alex De Ponti. A great fan of dance music (from 1970s disco to 1980s and 1990s dance), De Ponti began his musical experience at the turn of the millennium, also showing a great interest in the world of R&B, funk, soul and house of soulful imprint. In 2006, he founded Vinylbrokers, a full-fledged record store – specializing in U.S. made pressings – that has established itself as a point of reference for any fan of musical research. Since 2013 De Ponti has also started two record labels: BeYourself, dedicated to contemporary nu-soul and R&B landscapes, and Groovin Recordings, one of the best-known labels in the current vinyl market.
To date, De Ponti has behind him a resume of nearly two decades that has seen him perform in Italy and abroad. In Milan he has played for Club Haus 80's, Body Heat and Circle, in London he has performed in historical clubs such as Madame Jojo's and Egg London, while in New York he played at The Standard Hotel (Le Bain). Since 2017 he has been a regular guest at The Djoon Experience, a festival organized in Sicily by the prestigious Parisian club Djoon, where he was invited to play at My Grooves night. Since 2019 he has collaborated regularly with Radio Milano International, producing a program dedicated to contemporary black sounds, from current R&B through funky and nu-disco.
