Raised among the soulful streets of Philadelphia, double bassist Christian McBride, a 6-time Grammy Award winner, has demonstrated with his latest group project an excellent musical evolution that has taken place over the years. In him, the fire and fury of a virtuoso blend with the depth and grounding of a veteran, developed in part through the streets of New York City, to which he moved back in 1989. A key figure in today's international music scene, he has been able to recreate intense ensemble playing with that of four extremely virtuosic and versatile musicians with his latest project: saxophonist Marcus Strickland, drummer Nasheet Waits and trumpeter Josh Evans.
