Atlantide tells the story of Daniele, a young man who lives in the Venetian lagoon marginalized by his peer group, and dreams of a motorboat. A story of male initiation, violent and predestined to failure, born without a script. In fact, the dialogues are stolen from real life, and the story developed in the making, over about four years in close contact with the lives of the film's protagonists. The film records a moment of great change in Venice and its lagoon, told through the gazes of teenagers.
The screening is part of the program I see myself, others see me, which accompanies the exhibition Il Nostro Tempo, CinéFondationCartier.
