Free admission upon registration
Presented during the opening of the 24th International Exhibition, the 2025 Art for Tomorrow conference, curated by The Democracy & Culture Foundation and moderated by senior New York Times journalists, convenes senior figures to reflect on the role of the arts and architecture in shaping social and cultural change. The conference opens with institutional greetings by Achilles Tsaltas, President of Democracy & Culture Foundation, and Stefano Boeri, President of Triennale Milano, followed by the panel Going Deep: Community-Based Arts, in which artists and curators Alvaro Barrington, Alessandro Cinque and Courtney J. Martin discuss about artistic practices deeply rooted in the territories and needs of communities. A conversation with Theaster Gates, artist and professor at the University of Chicago and one of the protagonists of the 24th International Exhibition, explores the potential of art as a tool for urban regeneration and collective construction. The conference concludes with Culture for Tomorrow: a discussion between Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, Norman Foster, architect and President of the Norman Foster Foundation, and Stefano Boeri, who share their vision of the future of culture in a time marked by profound global transformations.
