Presentation of the book edited by Studio Celant on Alberto Garutti (1948 – 2023), an artist and lecturer among the most influential figures on the Italian and European art scene of the last fifty years. Conceived by Germano Celant over years of intense dialogue with Garutti, the volume includes an essay by Antonella Soldaini, a historical-critical chronology from 1948 to 2023 edited by Eva Fabbris, and seven unpublished thematic texts by Garutti, and recounts the artistic journey of an author who, since the 1970s, has always questioned the role and ethical responsibility of the figure of the artist for contemporary society. The volume is published by a+mbookstore (Milan) in the Italian version and by Hatje Cantz (Berlin) in the English version.
The talk starts with a welcoming speech by Stefano Boeri, President of Triennale Milano
Speakers: Barbara Casavecchia, Eva Fabbris, Francesco Garutti, Antonella Soldaini
