Like a flipbook, the volume—published by Arbor Editions and curated by Lisa Andreani—invites readers to reflect on the possibility of pausing, slowing down, and letting go. This is precisely what happens in 5 secondi, the work that gives the book and the exhibition—presented at the Fondazione Baruchello in Rome—their title. Martinucci documents an action performed in a public space. The central gesture—a simple fall—is broken down into one hundred and twenty frames, revealing the transformative potential of a fleeting instant. On one side, the volume gathers a polyphony of voices — Maria Alicata, Lisa Andreani, Damiano Gullì in conversation with the artist, Serena Schioppa, and Carla Subrizi — who reflect on the meaning and perception of a minimal span of time. On the other, it presents the artist’s exhibition project in the form of a cinematic flipbook and a record that emerges from the pages.
