December 16 2022, 6.30pm
Satellites revolutionized our lives without us even noticing: from the surface of Mars to the moons of Saturn, interplanetary probes and the Hubble Space Telescope have revealed to us secrets of the Cosmos yet to be deciphered. Marcello Spagnulo, an aerospace engineer and science advisor to "Limes," makes us reflect on how satellites have not only opened up horizons of scientific knowledge, but have helped create an economy on Earth of which we are all now often unaware users.
Marcello Spagnulo is an aeronautical engineer. He has worked for more than 30 years in the aerospace industry as a manager at private companies and space agencies in Italy, France, Holland, and at the French Guiana launch base. He is a scientific advisor to "Limes," a geopolitics magazine, and author of numerous scientific papers presented at international conferences. He is a member of the Academie Francaise de l'Aeronautique et de l'Espace in Toulouse, and the American Association of Aeronautics & Astronautics.
