SONDA is the Voce Triennale's format for artistic and sound experiments in the form of installations. This event is dedicated to Massimo Bartolini, an Italian artist whose practice spans multiple disciplines and forms of expression. On the opening night, Marco Cesare Consumi and Stefano Pilia present a live performance for guitar and electronics, conceived as the opening of the sound installation.
Ur Gerausch is a sound installation whose title is taken from a short text by the renowned German-language poet Rainer Maria Rilke. The work brings together language and sound through a reading of the text and a series of recordings of AM radio frequencies captured during the night. In his essay, Rilke imagines a connection between the groove left by a phonograph and the shape of a skull, wondering what sound might emerge from such a wavering line. Drawing on this image, Bartolini creates a sonic environment designed to be experienced through movement and listening.
