Mario Bellini. Italian Beauty Architecture Museum A.V. Ščusev - Moscow

Triennale Milano and the Italian Institute of Culture in Moscow present the first stop of the world tour of Mario Bellini. Italian Beauty, shows that Triennale Milano has dedicated to the entire work of the Milanese architect, known all over the world, and that took place in Milan in 2017. The exhibition is a transversal journey of almost 60 years between design, architecture and exhibition design. For the first time in his long career, Mario Bellini has not set up the exhibition himself, but has given way to the architect Dario Curatolo who has signed the exhibition project.

A tribute, then, to the multifaceted and singular work of an Italian designer who has achieved every success both in the small scale (eight Compasso d'Oro, furnishings and objects that have become icons that have entered homes and offices all over the world, often anticipating or revolutionizing taste and style), both in the large scale (Convention Centers, Exhibitions, Museums designed from Japan to the USA, from Germany to Australia and, in 2012 the Islamic Arts Department, a golden wave for the most prestigious museum of world, the Louvre in Paris). The exhibition wants to pay attention to the role on the necessity and the subversive and salvific role of beauty, in particular the Italian one.

The Milan retrospective was inaugurated exactly thirty years after the great exhibition dedicated to Bellini by the MoMA of New York in 1987, which took into account its activity as a designer, already present at that time with 25 works in the permanent collection of the American museum. Just 1987 was the year of Bellini's turning point, which since then has been mainly devoted to large-scale architecture and urban design.
