At Voce Triennale we host a series of three events that combines talks and listening sessions to explore how success is shaped in today’s pop and rap landscape. Musicologist and radio host Claudio Biazzetti joins Greg Willen, one of the most versatile producers on the Italian music scene. After his early experiences in electronic music, Greg Willen established himself as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Italian urban and pop music.
Through the listening of stems—the individual elements that make up a track—the session retraces the creative process behind a hit, from production and sound design to the initial ideas and the construction of an artistic identity. A true guide to understanding how musical success takes shape today.
Greg Willen (1997) is one of the most versatile producers on the Italian music scene. After taking his first steps in electronic music, he rose to prominence in the urban and pop world, producing numerous hit records, beginning with the trio FSK Satellite. His work has earned multiple gold and platinum certifications.
In 2023, he embarked on a new solo path as a DJ, returning to his electronic roots with a radical and highly personal sound. His productions blend techno, gabber, hardstyle, and hardcore into an industrial, melodic, and nostalgic mix, pushing towards darker and more extreme sonic territories. This vision gave rise to Perpetual, a techno event in Milan that brings together sonic experimentation, immersive visuals, and an uncompromising nocturnal spirit.
Claudio Biazzetti is a musicologist, journalist, radio host, and former Music Editor at Rolling Stone Italia. When he is not playing Magic: The Gathering or Dungeons & Dragons, he writes about music for Red Bull, Rolling Stone, Billboard, and the Swiss-Italian public broadcaster RSI. He is also part of the team behind Lost Music Festival, an experimental music event held at Labirinto della Masone in Parma.
