Electronics Then and Now

We present an event that invites audiences to immerse themselves in a multifaceted journey through the sounds of acoustic and electronic experimentation, past and present, through the listening of four short works: Poème électronique by Edgard Varèse, Welcome to the Machine by Pink Floyd, Étude violette by Pierre Schaeffer, and diskhat ALL prepared1mixed by Aphex Twin. The works, which span different eras and languages, are presented in a conversational format by the speakers and diffused throughout the space in a listening experience conceived specifically for Voce Triennale. The juxtaposition of these selected pieces traces an original path, creating connections between different creative processes and genres, while bringing together historical and contemporary approaches to sonic experimentation and the use of technology, up to practices closer to younger generations.
